Your Matrimonial Search Deserves
100% Safety & Trust
Just like India's premier platforms (Shaadi.com Be Safe), Mahar Milan enforces rigorous Aadhaar verification, automated photo screening, and strict anti-fraud safeguards. Follow these essential guidelines to protect yourself from online deception.
6 Golden Rules to "Be Safe" Online
Remember these non-negotiable rules whenever you interact with prospective matches.
Never Send Money
Never transfer funds, send UPI payments, or buy gifts for anyone you meet online. Scammers fabricate sudden medical emergencies, travel ticket shortfalls, or customs clearance duties. Genuine matches will NEVER ask you for financial help.
Protect Banking & OTPs
Keep your confidential credentials private. Never share SMS OTPs, UPI PINs, NetBanking passwords, or bank card CVVs. Mahar Milan staff and genuine suitors will NEVER ask for your private banking details.
Beware Fake NRI Gifts
A prevalent cyber crime racket: A user claims to live in the UK/USA and promises expensive jewelry parcels, followed by a fake customs officer call asking for "clearance fee". This is a 100% scam. Report it right away.
Involve Family Early
Always involve your parents or guardians before sharing personal mobile numbers or making commitments. Serious candidates looking for marriage will always welcome family conversations.
Meet in Public Venues
For initial in-person meetings, always choose crowded public spaces such as daylight restaurants, cafes, or family venues. Inform close relatives of your exact destination and timing.
Insist on Live Video Call
Do not rely solely on photos which can be stolen from social media. Insist on a live video call to verify the person's face matches their profile before developing emotional attachment.
National Cyber Crime Helpline: 1930
Established by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, the Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System allows victims of online fraud to report incidents immediately.
If money was transferred to an online scammer, reporting to 1930 within 2 to 4 hours enables cyber police to liaise with beneficiary banks and freeze the funds before the scammer can withdraw them.
Common Red Flags to Watch Out For
If you notice any of these behaviors, stop communication immediately and inform Mahar Milan.
Expressing deep undying love or proposal within days of meeting before speaking to your family.
Constantly citing bad camera, poor signal, working in remote oil rigs, or defense base restrictions.
Asking for money for hospital admissions, customs fee, foreign currency clearance, or visa troubles.
Pressuring you to delete the matrimonial profile or switch to Telegram/untraceable apps quickly.
